WIN and AWESOME!
This week has been SO full of WIN and AWESOME, that I might feel like Charlie Sheen does with his tiger warlock blood.. or something to that effect.
I've been keeping under wraps that I was doing some very special to me training with the Muse Fusion girls, but this past weekend, herding cats turned into cat-FISH! We were lucky enough to travel to Weeki Wachee Springs and train with the lovely former mermaids (who swim once a month). I had some trouble sinking, I tend to float), and I've lost a lot of lung capacity from the pulmonary emboli, but I still learned a TON. Luckily, Mig, a photographer friend of mine, was at BARF, and left early on Sunday to get some pictures of mermaid Muse. Here are a couple:
Anyway, that was awesome. I wrote down everything I learned and will continue to practice.
Tuesday, I just happened to see that Hoopnotica was giving away two LED hoops with a battery and charger in Miami. I responded with the right phrase, and won . That's $300 worth of hoops! Luna picked them up for me, so we're sharing, she keeps one and I get the other (it's not like we won't each eventually buy the other hoop anyway).
I decided I wanted to join the YMCA for the pool to practice my mermaid stuff, and when I called them, they were running a promotion waiving their insane "joining fee" through Saturday, so I called at the right time and saved $90 on that, too! I now have access to all the Central Florida YMCA's. Yay!
Today, my doctor said I could do whatever I want physical activity wise, and that cardio conditioning would help me regain some of my lung capacity. He did say it would never be like before, but it would come back close. He also said that I could have a salad and some light greens every day and he would adjust my coumadin around that. I miss salads and spinach so much, I'm ready to up my dose of rat poison to get some of that back in my diet. :-) He also said it would be safe for me to get SCUBA certified, so I'm definitely going to look into that.
On top of all that, I found an attorney who is finally willing to check into taking my malpractice case against JFK for almost killing me. The fact that they're even willing to investigate is is awesome, since I get rejection letters from basic inquiries from most attorneys.
The only bad thing that has happened so far this week is that I dropped my phone while getting out of the car, and it landed face down, shattering the screen. However, I have my old G1 to fall back on, and tomorrow night, I'll be taking my G2 to Best Buy and using their replacement plan yet again, lol. I think they'll be tired of seeing me soon! I've dropped my G1 multiple times and the screen is just fine, so I think in addition to me being clumsy, the G2 has a less accident proof design. There are some cases for it now, so I'm going to buy one of those and replace the screen protector when I get my next one.
Luna and I have decided to work on training schedules, so far, here's mine:
Monday: 8:30-9 Cardio at the Y, 9:15-10:15 - Pool Training, 11-8 work, 8:30-9 Hoopnotica Practice
Tuesday: 8-5 work, 5:30 Zumba at the Y, 7-8 Pool Training, 8:30-9 - Bellydance Muse training
Wednesday: 8:30-9 Cardio at the Y, 9:15-10:15 - Pool Training, 11-8 work, 8:30-9 Hoopnotica Practice
Thursday:8-5 work, 6:15-7:15 Zumba at Windhorse, 7:30-8:30 teach belly dance at WindHorse
Friday: 8-5 Work, 6-7 Yoga and Bellydance Training
Saturday and Sunday: Varied, but Pool Training of at least 1 hour, Hoopnotica practice at least one hour, cardio at least 1 hour, and Yoga and Bellydance for at least 2 hours some time in the weekend hours.
Let's see if I can stick to that and loose some weight while getting better at dance and mermaid stuff!

Update on projects
Well, I wasn't sure I'd get any done while FlaRF was happening, and I was close to correct. I have completed two of the 5 pairs of harem pants that were cut and ready to be sewn because I needed them to match costumes.
The bodice is cut, but I need to sew it, line it, and bone it (using flexible plastic boning). I plan on getting that done this week (I have to). I also have the remaining 3 pairs of harem pants to sew. That might get done this week (at least one pair, since I will need them this weekend).
I'm leaving work early Friday to drive down and have to make it to The Indigo Garden by 6 PM to help Darlene set up for the Wolgemut workshop and hafla. Then a ful weekend of faire (the last weekend!).
Next weekend is Bollywood with Jaya, who is currently shooting her instructional DVD in New York!

Hmm...
Since no one uses myspace anymore, myself included, and Facebook isn't blog friendly, I guess it's time to start one.
I recently acquired a pug puppy, who I named Dublin. He's crazy full of energy for a pug, which is baffling to me. I have to thank Katie again for twisting my arm on this. :-) I missed Belle and Boo so much, it was hard to live sans pug in my life.
I have TONS of projects to do: Bodice for a fellow dancer, cloaks for me and David, finish my blue cabaret costume, re-work (whic probably just means make a new one) the belt and re sew the beads on my red cabaret costume, 3 or 4 pairs of harem pants are cut and waiting for sewing, finish embroidering and sewing the Kincora banner (which I plan to scotch guard), and then there's more.. I just can't think of it all. Then there's the photo shoot Sunday, which I'm actually excited about. Yay professional pictures!
I'm also planning, performing at or promoting four, yes FOUR, events in March during and after the Renaissance festival. The first is a drum workshop and hafla on March 11 with the band Wogelmut (I usually misspell that.. sorry Micha!). The workshop is going to be "drumming with live musicians" and will cover musical composition and how to drum along with it. The hafla will just be fun!
The second is a day of Bollywod workshops and a show on March 19 with Jaya Vaswani. Jaya is an amazing Bollywood dancer and choreographer, and I'm beyond pleased to be bringing her in to Lake County for a once in a blue moon learning opportunity for my students and other area dancers. I hope that Orlando and Lake County are ready for this!
The third is a performance for a charity showcase put on by Bellydancer Jessica. It will be at a restaurant in Longwood, and I have no idea what I'm dancing to yet. :-)
The fourth, and final, because I can't do anymore, will be a drum circle and hopefully firespinning night on Saturday March 26, because The Adrian Empire will be in Orlando having an Imperial Estates Meeting.
All of this is being organized and planned while The Florida Renaissance Festival is happening. So, I work full time during the week, teach dance on Thursdays, organize, promote and plan these events, possibly dance Friday night at the restaurant, then drive down to David so we can go be performers at a Ren Faire on the weekend.
I'm also in the process of getting certified by Hoopnotica to teach hoop dance, planning to take a Zumba jumpstart gold class, so I can teach Zumba and Zumba Gold, and then taking underwater fish training too. Sleep?? Probably not.
